Easy Disinfection Recipe for Piercing
If your new piercing just got infected, you can treat it at home with a few simple supplies. Your piercing will show some of the following symptoms if it has an infection, including pain, swelling and redness. You must treat it fast to avoid further complications.Things You'll Need
- Rubbing alcohol
- Cotton balls
- Triple antibiotic ointment cream
- Adhesive bandages

Pour rubbing alcohol over the infected piercing. Use the cotton balls to clean off any excess alcohol. Any rubbing alcohol with at least 70 percent alcohol will work. Rubbing alcohol is also known as isopropyl alcohol. It can be found in most local drug stores.

Remove piercing. If there is pus when you remove it, you must seek a doctor as you will need oral antibiotics.

Rub triple antibiotic ointment cream where your piercing was. Reapply the ointment one to three times a day, especially after you shower. You can find these in any local drug store.

Put adhesive bandages on your wound during the day. Leave it without a the bandages during the night to let your wound heal. You will begin to see improvement in your infection within two days.
