How to Remove Tape from a Wound
When it comes time to remove tape from a wound, it can be a tricky situation. The adhesive on the tape often adheres tightly to your skin's surface, creating what seems an unbreakable bond. When you attempt to remove it, you may fear that the top layer of your skin will peel away with the tape. If you have lots of body hair, it only compounds the problem. Fortunately, there is a way to loosen the adhesive so that you can peel it away from your skin without too much discomfort.Things You'll Need
- Tiny pair of scissors
- Cotton swabs
- Baby oil or rubbing alcohol

1
Separate the bandage over the wound from the adhesive tape with a pair of tiny scissors. Make vertical cuts on either side of the bandage with the scissors and carefully remove it. All that should be left is the adhesive tape on either side of the wound.
-
2
Saturate a cotton swab with baby oil or rubbing alcohol and rub it all around the edges of the adhesive tape to break the seal.
-
3
Grasp the edge of the tape and slowly and gently pull it in the direction of your hair growth so that you won't experience undue pain from your hair being pulled.
