Bleeding Throat
A variety of causes exist for bleeding in the throat. For example, if someone suffers from bulimia they may experience bleeding in the throat from vomit-induced irritation, or a smoker could experience bleeding in the throat as a result of smoking. Strep Throat

Strep throat can cause a bleeding throat. Strep throat can cause sores on the lining of the esophagus that could become inflamed and infected. In severe cases or when left untreated, these sores can bleed.
Dry Air

Dry air can lead to a variety of problems in the sinuses, including bleeding. Dry, irritated skin and mucous membranes can crack and occasionally bleed. This is a common cause of nosebleeds as well.
Excessive Coughing

Excessive, forceful coughing can lead to bleeding in the throat. Air, phlegm, acid and a variety of other substances can be hacked up during forceful coughing that can irritate the lining of the throat, causing bleeding.
