How to Kill Maggots in Living Tissue
Maggots don’t seem like they would be state-of-the-art medicine. They give most people a queasy stomach when they see them. However, maggots can actually help wounds heal. They feed on dead and infected tissue and disinfect the wound. This action allows the body’s healing systems to take over and heal at a faster rate.Instructions

1
Use sterile saline solution to flush the maggots from the wound. You can find sterile saline in your local pharmacy in the eye care section. Squirt the solution into the wound and wash the maggots into a bowl. Flushing this way also removes any dirt and foreign matter from the wound.

2
Examine the wound. Make sure all of the maggots have been flushed from the wound. If any are still hanging on, use tweezers to pull them from the wound.
-
3
Dress the wound. Once the wound is cleaned out, dress it so that it won’t be open for flies to lay eggs in the wound. Maggots are larvae hatched from fly eggs.

4
Dump the bowl of maggots into boiling water. This kills the maggots. Once the water cools, they can be disposed of.
