How to Use Salt on a Wound

Dead Sea salt is used to clean wounds for its high mineral content as well as its antiseptic and astringent qualities. Make a Dead Sea salt solution to gently cleanse wounds while drawing out infection and promoting the natural healing process. Instructions

    • 1

Pour five cups of water into a teapot and heat on the stove until the water reaches a rapid boil. The high heat will sterilize the water and kill any waterborne bacteria that would get into your wound.

    • 2

Dump one cup of the boiling water into a sealable glass container, replace the lid and shake the vessel to sterilize, before dumping the contents into the sink.

    • 3

Pour the four remaining cups of hot water into the glass container and add 12 tablespoons of 100% natural Dead Sea salt before replacing the lid.

    • 4

When the glass feels cool to the touch, your saltwater solution is ready to use as a wound cleanser.

    • 5

Remove the lid and dip a sterile cotton ball halfway into the solution then gently dab the wet side of the ball onto your wound. Use a new cotton ball each time you dip back into the saltwater to avoid contamination.
