Rinse the wound with cold water. This will slow the bleeding and wash off any other small pieces of glass.
-
2
Place the foot on a stable surface in direct sunlight or in a bright light. This will help you see the glass if it is a very small piece. Wipe the area with an alcohol soaked cotton swab.
-
3
Place the needle and tweezers in a bowl of rubbing alcohol to sterilize them for approximately 5 to 10 minutes. This prevents an infection from forming due to the germs on the tweezers or needle.
-
4
Pull the glass piece gently from the foot with the tweezers while holding the foot tightly. If the piece is very small, use the needle and slide the side of the needle back and forth over the area to release the piece of glass. Sometimes this will bring the glass closer to the surface so you can grab it with the tweezers.
