How to Use the Scotchcast Comfortable Splint

When you suffer from a broken or sprained extremity, a splint is typically used to help the bone heal. The Scotchcast Conformable Splint is easy to use, is known for its comfortable design and splint strength and comes in a variety of sizes. Once you select your required size, you can begin the healing process to have your extremity back in working condition.

      Fill a bowl with room-temperature water and set it aside. Remove the Scotchcast splint from the foil and submerge it completely in the bowl. Twist and squeeze the splint while it is submerged in water until it's completely soaked. Remove the splint from the bowl and wring it to drain the excess water. Pat the splint on a moisture-absorbent cloth in order to remove any excess liquid that may be left behind. The splint should remain slightly moist to the touch.

      Mold the splint, felt side up, to the extremity intended to be set after ensuring that the extremity is in a proper resting position. Adjust the splint by folding back the sides to adequately fit the extremity's dimensions. Hold the splint in place for approximately 30 seconds to assist those areas that require critical setting.

      Wait for about to 3 to 4 minutes for the splint to be set. Wrap a band around the splint to keep it in place.
