When to get stitches out?
For skin that heals well* Face and neck: 3 to 5 days
* Trunk and arms: 7 to 10 days
* Legs: 10 to 14 days
* Hands and feet: 14 to 21 days
For skin that heals slowly
* Areas of decreased sensation: 14 days
* Areas of poor circulation (such as the legs): 10 to 21 days
* Infected areas: Until infection is completely gone
For deep stitched tissues or internal lacerations
* 14 to 21 days or according to your health care provider's instructions
