How to Get Glass out of the Bottom of the Foot
The bottoms of feet are susceptible to glass splinters, which make walking painful and difficult. Improper removal can further aggravate this by causing additional damage to the skin or putting you at risk of infection. Seek medical attention if it's a large piece of glass, if it's deeply embedded or if it breaks off in your foot during the removal process. Because thin slivers of glass are difficult to see, you might miss a piece. Do not slice the skin in search of it; consult your doctor instead.Things You'll Need

1
Bring water to a boil on the stove. Place a sewing needle and a pair of tweezers in the water, and allow them to boil for five minutes.
-
2
Wash your hands and the bottom of your foot thoroughly with soap and hot water.
-
3
Sit in a well-lit area with your foot propped up on the opposite knee.
-
4
Locate an accessible piece of the glass. If the entire splinter sits beneath a thin layer of skin, glide the tip of the needle along it to pull the skin away from it.
-
5
Grasp the tip of the glass with the tweezers and pull back at the angle at which it entered your foot.
-
6
Press your thumbs down gently on both sides of the entry point to squeeze a small amount of blood from the wound. This flushes germs out.
-
7
Rinse the area, and wash it with soap and water. Pat it dry with a clean paper towel.
-
8
Place a bandage on your foot, and cover it with a sock to help it stay in place.
