How to Fix Crooked Teeth
Crooked teeth not only impact a person's looks, they impact how the jaw is aligned and force teeth to wear unevenly, or even cause pain. It's important to have the teeth assessed to discover the best way of fixing them. There are a few different treatment options to straighten crooked teeth. Each must be undertaken under the supervision of an orthodontist or cosmetic dentist.Instructions

1
Visit an orthodontist for an assessment. The orthodontist will tell you if you are a good candidate for removable or fixed braces, and whether you need additional equipment, such as headgear, to fix your teeth.
-
2
Have X-Rays and molds taken of your teeth.
-
3
Get either removable braces or fixed braces. Removable braces must be worn as directed for best results. Fixed braces are cemented or glued to the teeth, and are sometimes worn with rubber bands to keep the jaw properly aligned.
-
4
Make frequent visits to the orthodontist, usually about once a month, to have adjustments made to the braces or to get the next step in the series of removable braces. These adjustments gradually straighten the teeth.
-
5
Wear the braces as directed for up to three years. Less time may be necessary.
