Braces have become more fashionable with the addition of colors. Well, the braces themselves aren't colored; elastic rings that hold the wires in place provide the color. These elastic rings wrap around the brace on each tooth. You can choose among many different color options and have plenty of opportunity to try them all. Many people get their braces adjusted on a regular basis, some as often as once a month. They can try new colors on a regular basis.

Eye-Bopping Colors

• Red is an eye-popping color against the dull whiteness of the tooth. This color is cool for both girls and boys and can easily match with many different outfits. It is also a festive color for celebrations. Some other options include gold, fuchsia and turquoise. For fans of pink, fuchsia is a dark and eye-popping color. Turquoise is a cool color for those who prefer blue tones.

Team Colors

• Choose colors that celebrate your favorite sports team. Combine purple and marigold to celebrate the Los Angeles Lakers, or black and silver to support the Oakland Raiders. Consider colors that show pride in a high school or college team. You also can wear colors in alternating sequence (e.g., black-silver-black) or deck out your upper row of teeth in one color while the bottom row makes a statement with an entirely different color.

• Celebratory colors are a combination of at least two different colors that represent a particular holiday. For example, Christmas is a combination of red and green. When the Christmas season is over, get Valentine's Day pink and red colored ties. Then prepare for Easter with a pink and blue color combination and head into the Fourth of July with red and blue.
