What is wrong when the cervix tilted?
A tilted cervix is a common variation in the position of the cervix, which is the lower part of the uterus that opens into the vagina. It is important to note that a tilted cervix is not a medical condition and does not usually cause any health problems.
The cervix can be tilted in different directions:
- Anteverted: This is the most common position, where the cervix points forward towards the bladder.
- Retroverted: This is where the cervix points backward towards the rectum.
- Lateralverted: This is where the cervix points to the left or right side of the body.
A tilted cervix can sometimes be associated with certain gynecological conditions, such as endometriosis or uterine fibroids, but it is not a direct cause of these conditions. If you have concerns about your cervical position or experience unusual symptoms, such as pain or heavy bleeding during menstruation, it is always advisable to consult a healthcare professional.
