What does it mean when your underwear and pee smell like the period?
It is possible that you have a urinary tract infection (UTI). UTIs are caused by bacteria that enter the urethra and multiply in the bladder. They can cause a variety of symptoms, including:
- Frequent urination
- Pain or burning during urination
- Cloudy or foul-smelling urine
- Lower abdominal pain
- Back pain
- Fever and chills
If you think you may have a UTI, it is important to see a doctor as soon as possible. They can prescribe antibiotics to treat the infection.
Here are some tips for preventing UTIs:
- Drink plenty of fluids, especially water.
- Urinate frequently, especially after sexual intercourse.
- Wipe from front to back after using the toilet.
- Avoid using feminine hygiene products that can irritate the urethra.
- Talk to your doctor if you are sexually active and have recurrent UTIs.
