Where do you find asbestos in domestic properties?
Asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) can be found in a variety of locations in domestic properties, including:
* Roofing materials, such as corrugated asbestos cement sheets and asbestos tiles
* Wall materials, such as asbestos cement panels and textured coatings
* Ceiling materials, such as asbestos insulation board and textured coatings
* Floor materials, such as vinyl asbestos tiles and asbestos cement tiles
* Insulation materials, such as loose asbestos fibre insulation and asbestos lagging
* Miscellaneous materials, such as asbestos cement water tanks, flue pipes, and gaskets
It is important to note that not all materials that contain asbestos are automatically dangerous. The risk of exposure to asbestos fibres only occurs when ACMs are damaged or disturbed, releasing fibres into the air.
