How to Fit a DenTek Night Guard

Grinding your teeth at night is a condition called bruxism. In addition to a lack of a good night's rest, jaw pain and ear pain, bruxism can wear down the enamel on your teeth and create dental problems. To help prevent teeth grinding, a dentist developed the DenTek Night Guard. The DenTek Night Guard can help with bruxism but first it must be fitted properly.

Instructions

Remove the DenTek Night Guard from the packaging. Position the DenTek Night Guard in your mouth so it covers your upper teeth. Run your fingers along the edges and smooth it out. Remove the DenTek Night Guard and trim the edges if it is too long. It is important to trim carefully so you fit a DenTek Night Guard properly.

    • 2

Fill a heavy pot with a few inches of water and bring it to a boil. Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool slightly (about 1 minute).

    • 3

Put the DenTek Night Guard protector into the pot of hot water for 30 seconds. The heating process will help mold the material so it fits snugly to your teeth and gumline.

    • 4

Carefully remove the DenTek Night Guard protector with tongs or a spoon. Run lukewarm water over the protector for a second to reduce heat.

    • 5

Put the DenTek Night Guard protector back on your teeth. Line it up so the center is aligned with the two teeth in front. You may need to pull the sides of the DenTek Night Guard protector slightly to fit it to all of your teeth. This step is essential to correctly fit a DenTek Night Guard.

    • 6

Bite down on the DenTek Night Guard to secure the fit. You are now ready to use your DenTek Night Guard.

    • 7

Keep in mind the DenTek Night Guard comes with a warranty. If you mess up or cannot get the DenTek Night Guard to fit correctly you can return it.
