Instructions

-
1
Look for symptoms, which include swelling and pain around the wisdom tooth and difficulty in opening the mouth.
-
2
Go to your dentist immediately if your jaws and cheeks are swollen. If the swelling is only around the wisdom tooth, you may be able to solve the problem on your own.
-
3
Rinse your mouth with warm salty water after every meal to prevent formation of bacteria.
-
4
Brush your teeth and wash your mouth carefully, making sure that all food particles are washed out.
-
5
Use a gentle disinfectant mouthwash after brushing your teeth.
-
6
Take pain relievers such as aspirin, acetaminophen or ibuprofen, if necessary.
-
7
Contact your dentist if the problem persists. A case of severe infection may require oral surgery.
