How to Reglue a Tooth to Dentures

Losing or breaking a tooth from your dentures never happens at a convenient time. There can be nothing more frustrating than preparing for a date or a dinner with a client than finding a tooth from your denture loose or broken. This can also happen when you can't get to a dentist because it happens at night or during the weekend. Using a denture repair kit works until you can make an appointment with your dentist.

Instructions

Read the instructions on the repair kit that you've purchased. Use only the items that are contained within the repair kit. Using other types of glue, such as an instant adhesive can damage the dentures and, if ingested, be toxic.

    • 2

Keep the repair kit in a convenient place. If you travel or are out of your home a great deal, keep a kit in your briefcase or purse and another in your home medicine cabinet. You'll find these kits in retail pharmacies and dental supply stores.

    • 3

Wash the tooth that needs to be glued into place with a solution of warm water and denture cleaner. Remove any dirt or hard-to-remove particles with a soft denture brush.

    • 4

Check the tooth that's loose or has fallen out to verify it's still usable. The kits come with spare teeth. If the tooth is unusable, put it in a safe place in a container to take with you to the dentist. Choose a tooth from the kit that closely resembles the broken tooth.

    • 5

Open the repair kit on a flat surface. Remove the adhesive that's in the kit. Remove the eye dropper in the kit. Squeeze the eye dropper's bulb and insert the tip into the container of the adhesive. Let the bulb go and remove the eye dropper from the container of the adhesive.

    • 6

Place a drop of the adhesive on the sides of the tooth that will be inserted into the denture. Push the tooth into place. Open the tube of resin and apply on the tooth where it has been glued. Allow the adhesive to dry for five minutes. Rinse thoroughly under warm water.
