How to Apply Denture Adhesive
Loose dentures have the potential to fall out or cause difficulty speaking or eating. Denture adhesive can help you feel more confident about the fit and stability of your dentures. When applying this adhesive, it is important to remember that its effectiveness does not increase as the amount of adhesive increases. In fact, the opposite is true. A small amount of denture adhesive goes a long way.Things You'll Need

1
Rinse any debris off the dentures under a stream of running water. Scrub the dentures with a soft-bristled toothbrush and a commercial denture cleanser or mild soap. Dry the dentures thoroughly.
-
2
Spread a clean towel out on a workspace. Place your upper denture on the towel, teeth-side down.
-
3
Squeeze three to four drops of denture adhesive on the section of the denture that is placed against the roof of your mouth. The drops should be about the size of an eraser on a pencil. Do not spread the drops around or coat the entire inside section with adhesive. Leave the drops alone once they are squeezed onto the denture.
-
4
Place your lower denture on the towel, teeth-side down.
-
5
Squeeze three to four drops of denture adhesive evenly around the inside section of the lower denture as you did with the upper denture.
-
6
Prepare your mouth for the dentures by cleaning it thoroughly. Brush your gums, tongue and palate with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Swish water around the inside of your mouth, then spit.
-
7
Insert the upper denture firmly into place. Repeat for the lower denture. Bite down briefly to secure the placement of the dentures.
