How to Fix Misaligned Teeth
Misaligned teeth can negatively affect your confidence. Many people with badly misaligned teeth are afraid to smile or shy away from face-to-face interaction. You may not be able to change your genetics, but you can take steps to improve your smile. Modern dentistry can fix your misaligned teeth with minimal discomfort.Instructions

1
Schedule a consultation with your dentist to learn how your misaligned teeth can be straightened. Your dentist will likely refer you to an orthodontist, a dentist who specializes in fixing crooked teeth.

2
Meet with the orthodontist to discuss your options. The orthodontist will take an impression as well as an x-ray of your mouth. If your misalignment is only slight, the orthodontist may prescribe Invisalign, a clear, removable mouthpiece that will fix your misalignment over time. However, orthodontists most commonly prescribe braces. If your teeth are more than slightly misaligned, you'll need to wear braces over a period of time.

3
Visit your orthodontist for regular checkups to ensure that the braces stay well fitted to your teeth.

4
Have your braces removed at the proper time. When your teeth have been aligned, the orthodontist will remove your braces and give you a retainer to make sure your newly aligned teeth stay in place. Wear your retainer exactly as instructed.
