Wisdom Teeth Food Ideas
Once your wisdom teeth are removed, it's critical to give your mouth time to heal properly. Since you will have stitches in the back of your mouth and will feel sore, avoid a chance of infection. One way to do this is to eat soft foods for at least a week after the surgery. Luckily, there are many options to choose from that will keep you satisfied all day long.-
Breakfast
-
Start your day off with something filling and nutritious. Yogurt is high in protein and will help keep you satisfied. Oatmeal is another healthy choice that should help keep you full until lunchtime. Applesauce, canned fruit and cottage cheese with jelly are other soft choices. Scrambled eggs, served in small pieces, can be topped with melted cheese. You can also make a banana, milk and peanut butter smoothie.
Lunch
-
Vegetable smoothies are always an option that will fill you up. A vegetable frittata or spinach, cheese and artichoke quiche are all tasty and soft. If you are not up to making these meals from scratch, you can find ready made ones in the frozen aisle. Egg salad is another tasty lunch option. If you are a pasta lover, try macaroni and cheese or cheese ravioli, which are also easy to chew.
Dinner
-
Have soup packed with noodles or rice. Vegetables are also an option, but make sure they are chopped finely and cooked well enough to be soft. If you want to add some meat into the soup, just make sure it is tender and served in small pieces. Other ideas are mashed potatoes or pureed vegetables like squash or carrots. If none of these options seem satisfying, you can puree some chili.
Desserts
-
If you have a sweet tooth, this may be the best part of your day. There are many dessert options you can indulge in that will be easy to eat. If you are an ice cream lover, choose flavors that don't have nuts, chocolate chips or hard pieces to chew. Other ideas are fruit sorbet, gelato, frozen yogurt, milkshakes, jello, custard or pudding. Chocolate or soft fudge are also delicious, melt-in-your-mouth choices.
