How long is the process for dental hygiene training?

Dental hygiene training programs typically take two to three years to complete. This includes both classroom instruction and clinical experience.

During the classroom portion of the program, students learn about the human body, oral health, and various dental hygiene procedures. They also gain experience using dental instruments and equipment. The clinical portion of the program allows students to work with patients under the supervision of licensed dental hygienists.

After completing a dental hygiene training program, graduates must pass the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination (NBDHE) in order to become licensed dental hygienists. The NBDHE is a written exam that tests students' knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and patient care.
