How to Rinse Your Mouth After a Resin Composite Dental Filling
Composite resin is the material dentists put in your teeth to fix or correct gaps that arise because of cavities or broken or chipped teeth. Composite resin is also used for inlays and veneers, cosmetic procedures that are sometimes necessary to repair damage. Getting a filling of composite resin from a reputed and qualified dentist is a routine procedure which should be followed up with simple precautionary steps. During the procedure itself, it is important to rinse the mouth correctly to ensure the proper setting of the filling.Things You'll Need

1
Rinse your mouth gently with clean water or mouthwash after a composite resin filling. If the mouthwash is an antiseptic one it will guard against possible infections and the water content will rinse away any residue from the procedure. Gargle for 15 to 20 seconds.

2
Spend some time cleansing the tooth that has been filled with the composite filling while rinsing. The area will be sensitive -- check to make sure the bite is right. If there is a problem and it feels uncomfortable, contact your dentist.

Rinse with slightly salted water. Salt is a natural antiseptic. Gargling with salted water ensures a clean mouth, especially after a composite filling procedure. Rinse your mouth periodically at least the full day after the filling to keep the new filling clean.
