How to Keep Lumineers White

Discolored teeth, and teeth that are uneven or chipped, can affect your self-esteem and self-confidence. To fix your smile, Lumineers may be the answer. The thin, high-quality porcelain shells cover up your flawed teeth and give you a radiant smile. Unlike traditional porcelain veneers, getting Lumineers doesn't require any drilling or shots; the procedure is painless. However, some shaping and prepping of the teeth is required. Because Lumineers can be costly, practice proper care to keep them looking white.

Instructions

    • 1

Floss your teeth daily and brush them at least twice a day. Treat your Lumineers the way you would treat you natural teeth. Use a toothbrush with a head that is 1 inch long at the most. Use a fluoride toothpaste that has the seal of approval from the American Dental Association. Brush your teeth for two minutes each time you brush, to keep them clean and to remove food particles and stains.

    • 2

Avoid dark-colored liquids, such as coffee, juices, tea, wine and dark soda because these can stain your Lumineers. Drink dark-colored liquids through a straw to minimize contact with your Lumineers.

    • 3

Limit smoking tobacco, if you smoke, because nicotine in tobacco can stain your Lumineers.
