How to Get Your Tooth to Fall Out
Sometimes children are afraid to pull a loose tooth out, due to a fear of pain. Encouraging the tooth to fall out is not difficult, although it does take persistence and patience. Using his fingers to loosen the tooth or eating the right types of food, enables the loss to be a less traumatic experience. Primary -- or baby -- teeth become loose because an emerging permanent tooth is pushing it out.Things You'll Need

1
Instruct the child to wash his hands well with soap and water before attempting to wiggle his loose tooth.
-
2
Tell him to gently wiggle the tooth to the left and then to the right. This gradually helps to loosen the tooth so well that it eventually only hangs by a tiny piece of flesh. Ask him to remember to wiggle his tooth several times each day after cleaning his hands.
-
3
Instruct the child to play with her loose tooth throughout the day by using her tongue to move it around. This helps loosen it by the frequent wiggling and manipulation of the tooth.

4
Tell the child to eat an apple every day. Often the tooth comes out inside the apple. She also may swallow the tooth without realizing it until she sees the empty space in her mouth. Swallowing a tooth does not cause the child to choke or result in any other harm, according to the Baby Center website. Other foods to encourage her to eat include raw celery stalks and carrot sticks.
