Instructions

    • 1

Insert the ruler into the freezer bag with the zero measurement end first or wrap the ruler in clear plastic wrap from the zero up to the six inch mark, making sure you can still read the numbers on the ruler. This will protect you from any germs that might be on the ruler. Use your left hand to hold the freezer bag taught around the ruler and against the inside edge of the end of the bag.

    • 2

Open your mouth and stick your tongue straight out as far as you can. Close the top of your mouth so your lips and teeth touch your tongue.

    • 3

Place the ruler on your tongue with the zero end first, then slide the ruler down against your top lip.

    • 4

Grip the ruler firmly at the very tip of your tongue with the thumb and forefinger of your right hand. Release your left hand from the ruler.

    • 5

Read the number on the ruler closest to your fingers and write down your measurement.

Discard the plastic freezer bag when you are done measuring.
