How to Maintain My Partial False Teeth

Partial dentures are available to someone who has lost a few teeth in his mouth and does not need a whole set of false teeth. Each partial denture is designed to fit the person's mouth. Maintain your partial dentures with regular hygiene care to avoid discoloration, plaque build up or bacteria growth.

  • Denture toothpaste
  • Denture soaking tablet
  • Container to soak denture in

      Remove the partial denture from your mouth so you may inspect it. Look at the partial denture and inspect it for any cracks or loose teeth. Alert the doctor if the denture needs repair.

      Open the denture toothpaste and place a small dab of toothpaste on the denture tooth brush.

      Turn the water on in the sink and place the denture toothbrush under the running water to get it wet. Remove the denture toothbrush from the water and turn the water off. Apply the denture toothbrush to the partial denture and brush back and forth against the partial denture. Brush the whole partial to remove dirt, food and bacteria.

      Turn the water on in the sink again and use the water to rinse the partial denture and the denture toothbrush. Place the denture toothbrush back where it belongs and place the partial denture on a clean towel.

      Turn the water back on and fill your container that you use to soak partial dentures with water. Turn the water off after you are done filling the denture soaking container.

      Place a chemical tablet in the water that is made especially for cleaning dentures and partial dentures. Place the partial denture in the container and allow it to soak. Leave the partial denture in the container until you are ready to place it back into your mouth.
