Fill a coffee cup with tap water. Place it in the microwave and heat it until the water is boiling. Remove it from the microwave and let it sit undisturbed for 15 seconds.
-
2
Insert the dental piece into the cup of boiling water with the soft material facing down. Wait 50 seconds, then lift it out of the cup with a fork. Place the insert on a plate with the soft material facing up. Let the piece rest for 10 seconds to cool.
-
3
Lift the dental piece by the base and place it in your mouth. Use a mirror to align the sides of the dental piece directly under your upper molars and the center of the piece directly below your front teeth.
-
4
Bite down firmly. Suck in while biting to remove any extra moisture from the mold. Continue to bite down on the mold while using your fingers to push the soft portion of the mold up around your outer gums. Press the center of the mold with your tongue to form it to the roof of your mouth.
-
5
Open your mouth. Press on the mold with your thumbs to form it around the inside of your teeth and the roof of your mouth. Bite down firmly on the mold and hold it for three to four minutes until it cools to normal body temperature. Open your mouth and remove the mold.
