Free Dental Care to Low-Income Families in Sarasota, Florida
The Sarasota County Health Department offers dental care for those who cannot afford to see a dentist and do not have insurance. The county works to ensure its dental-care program is available to as many residents as possible by offering low to no fees for services. Some charges are based on what you are able to pay.-

Cost of dental care from the health department is based on a sliding scale for families of low to moderate income or those without dental insurance. Depending upon your household income you may qualify for free dental care. The county requires proof of residency, proof of income and the identity for everyone living in the household.
Services Available

Children and adults may be eligible for examinations, cleanings, fillings, sealants, extractions, dentures (complete and partial) and root canals of the front teeth. Emergency dental services are also available.

The health department provides dental services at three locations: the Sarasota County Health Department, Monday through Wednesday from 7:45 a.m. until 5 p.m., on Thursday from 9:15 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. The South County Center in Venice offers dental care Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Dental care is also available at the North Port Center on Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Clinic Cards

You will need to show a clinic card, provided by the health department, to receive treatment. To get your card, bring a government-issued photo ID and Social Security cards for everyone in your family. You will need to show proof of residency, such as a phone bill or lease. Also bring in proof of the last four weeks of income for the entire household.
