How to Heal Cold Sores on the Gums
Caused by the herpes simplex type 1 virus or HSV-1, cold sores usually occur on the outside of your mouth. Cold sores can also develop on your gums and the roof of your mouth. Kissing an infected person and sharing infected eating utensils, or personal items can lead to cold sores, according to Mayo Clinic. Cold sores develop due to triggers, such as stress and exposure to the elements. Itching and a tingling sensation can warn you of an impending outbreak.Things You'll Need
