Choosing the right irrigator for you and your family is important. The major differences between the two brands are their pulses per minute and different ways of achieving deep and gentle cleaning.

  1. Panasonic Irrigator

    • The Panasonic Irrigator pulses at 1,600 pulses per minute. It is designed to fit in between your teeth in order to remove build up and reduce bacteria. This design takes 2 "AA" batteries and weighs 7.4 oz without the batteries. Since batteries power the device, you can take your Irrigator anywhere. The Irrigator also has two pulse settings.

    Waterpik Irragator

    • The Waterpik Irrigator pulses at 1,200 pulses per minute. This type of Irrigator has a recharging power supply and will remain charged for one week. The unit comes with two tips: one tip is for gentle cleansing and one for deep cleansing.

    Comparison

    • Both Irrigators have two power settings. Waterpik offers two different tips whereas Panasonic offers only two different power settings. The Waterpik one also has a lower top speed that can help reduce gum bleeding. Both can be used with braces.
