Instructions for Fixodent Denture Cleanser

Dentures require daily maintenance and care similar to natural teeth. This consists of debris and stain removal, along with disinfection and odor control. Fixodent offers a range of products for false teeth, including denture cleanser, adhesive powder, adhesive cream, and travel-sized versions such as Fixodent Control To Go. Fixodent denture cleanser comes in tablet form with a continuous cleansing system for stain protection. Newer versions add mouthwash or whitening ingredients to enhance the germ-killing and stain-removing properties.

  Brush your dentures with a toothbrush to remove plaque, tartar and food particles. Rinse them with running water.

  Fill the cup or container with enough warm water to cover your dentures completely. Tear open the Fixodent package and drop one tablet into the cup.

  Remove your dentures. Swish with warm water or mouthwash to loosen the bond between your gums and the denture adhesive. Pull gently with a slight rocking motion on the lower denture to remove it.

  Place your thumbs on the inside of your upper denture near the front teeth. Press up and out to break the seal, then drop both dentures in the cup with the cleansing solution.

  Soak your dentures for at least 15 minutes for effective cleansing; soak overnight for complete sterilization. After soaking, remove dentures from the solution.

  Rinse dentures thoroughly and let them air-dry on a paper towel. Discard the solution and wash your hands.
