How to Keep Teeth Together while Sleeping & Stop Snoring
Snoring is caused by the narrowing of the air passage in your throat, which causes the tissue in your throat to vibrate as you breath during sleep. According to British Snoring, people who breath through their mouths are likely to snore because the air you breath in hits the back of the throat head on and creates vibrations that make the snoring noise. You can stop snoring by taking measures to keep your teeth together and your mouth closed, which will ensure that you breathe through your nose, instead of your mouth.Things You'll Need

1
Use a chin strap, an elastic band that you place over the top of your head and around your chin, to prevent you from opening your mouth while you sleep. Chin straps can be purchased at the pharmacy.

2
Apply a chin-up strip, if you prefer to use something that does not cover your whole head. The chin-up strip is an adhesive u-shaped strip that you place on your lower lip. It keeps your teeth together and mouth shut by supporting the chin. Chin-up strips can also be purchased at the pharmacy.

Opt for a snore guard, if you would rather use an internal method of snore prevention. The mouth guard is made out of plastic that is specially molded to fit your teeth. You must visit your dentist for one of these.

Tape your mouth closed with medical tape, if none of the other options appeals to you. Cut a narrow strip about four inches long, place onto your lower lip and press down with your upper lip to seal them. This will keep your mouth closed while you sleep.
