The Best Recommended Dentures

Teeth are a mandatory part of our lives and provide many basic functions. We need them to speak properly and to chew and digest food. So when your teeth are not working the way they used to, it may be time to consider dentures. Dentures can improve the quality of your life, while boosting your confidence. Some people get dentures as a medical necessity or as a cosmetic upgrade.
  1. Cu-Sil Dentures

    • The beauty of a Cu-Sil denture is that it allows you to keep your healthy teeth instead of having all of your teeth pulled out. There are holes in the dentures so that your natural teeth can blend in with the artificial. However, dentists caution that Cu-Sil dentures are used with healthy teeth that will eventually be removed. The good news is that you'll get to keep some teeth, but the bad news is that it's not for long.

    Implant-Retained Dentures

    • Implanted dentures are held in place with a few titanium screws. These screws will not show, but you will need extra time to heal and adjust to them. On the positive side, these dentures will require minimal adjusting. Bonds and pastes will not be needed to keep them in place.

    Immediate Dentures

    • For these dentures, you will first need to go to your dentist to be measured. Once the mold is shaped and ready for wear, you will return to the dentist to have the dentures installed. Your teeth will be pulled the same day and the dentures will fit where they used to be. You will go to your dentist's office with your old teeth and come out with new ones.

    Overdentures

    • Overdentures are exactly as the name implies: these dentures fit directly over your current teeth. This eliminates most of the pain of having to have teeth pulled and new ones put in. All you have to do is adjust to having a foreign object in your mouth. But in the long run, you'll get used to it.

As a side note, when you decide to order dentures, ask your dentist to make a second copy. This will help in an emergency when you can't find your original pair or have damaged them. Having a spare set will save you embarrassment as well as the time and money it would cost to completely replace your dentures.
