1
Visit the office of a denturist. Get an oral exam to ensure that your mouth is healthy and get impressions made of your upper and lower ridges. These impressions are used to make a plaster of Paris cast and ultimately a wax bite for the new dentures.
-
2
Insert the wax bite into the mouth. The wax bite was constructed from the plaster of Paris cast. The wax bite is used to measure the skull and bite structure in your mouth. Also, your lip level will be marked in the wax to ensure that the teeth are the proper size. The wax bite will ultimately reveal the relationship between the bite pattern and jaw.

3
Select teeth for the denture. The teeth that will be inserted into the denture should be picked according to shape, size and color. The desired teeth will be inserted into the wax bite by hand. The wax bite is then refined around the edges by hand and inserted into your mouth. When in your mouth, note the level of comfort and adjust the teeth size accordingly.

4
Place the dentures in a stone mold. Heat the mold to melt the wax. Pour the melted wax out to be left with just the stone mold and the teeth. Inject the mold with acrylic and allow it to cure. Break open the denture mold when finished curing and check the bite pattern, trim and polish.
