• Thayer's is a popular brand of dry mouth spray which helps to alleviate all forms of the condition, from minor problems such as hyposalivation to reactions to a medication. Flavors include citrus and peppermint. The sprays are sugar free, so that they won't cause the mouth to dry out more over time or affect the teeth. Thayer's retails for $5 to $8 dollars for a 4-ounce bottle.

Rain

• Developed to relieve the symptoms of dry mouth, Rain dry mouth spray supplies a rich amount of xylitol which moisturizes and improves salivation. This spray also helps kill bacteria in the mouth throughout that can lead to cavities or gum disease. Rain also is recommended by dentists.

CariFree Boost

• CariFree Boost mouth spray also contains xylitol and can be used throughout the day. These are sold in boxes with four 12 milliliter units with about 100 sprays per bottle for $20. There is no alcohol in the solution and it is safe to swallow. It is recommended for use between meals and before bedtime.
