CAD/CAD Technology
-
Computers aid in reconstruction A dental technician can use CAD/CAM technology to improve the teeth, using a computer aided design. He will use a computer to help with the shape and formation of the teeth. The tech can fabricate crowns, bridges and inlays for single or multiple tooth restorations. The CAD/CAM computer allows the tech to see a 3D image of the teeth and gums. This is easier than taking a tooth impression, and when it comes to treating most tooth problems, it can usually be done in half the time by using this type of computer.
Lasers
-
Dental laser procedures can replace older types of procedures because they address the problemmore quickly and without all the excess pain. There is little to no damage to the surrounding tissues, and most of the time there will be no need for sutures after a laser is used. In some cases, anesthesia will not have to be used either. Lasers can be used to treat gum problems, cold sores, benign tumors and for crown lengthening, and they are known for being precise and very effective.
X-ray Machines
-
X-ray After a dentist has thoroughly examined your teeth, she will then take X-rays of the entire jaw. Even if she thinks everything looks fine, it may be impossible for her to see certain cavities and things such as an impacted wisdom tooth. But with these X-ray images, she will be able to not only see the problem but she will also know how to address it. X-rays allow the dentist to see the entire tooth from the root to the crown. She can also spot problems with the bones or infections due to severe gum disease.
