How to Store a Partial Plastic Teeth Bridge When Not Wearing It

Partial dentures, sometimes also known as a bridge, a tooth bridge or a teeth bridge, help cover a gap between teeth that's too large to be solved with dental implants. Partial dentures may be anchored to the teeth on either side of the gap and may be permanent or removable. Properly cleaning and storing a bridge when not in use will help you to prolong its life and maintain it in the best condition possible, both aesthetically and functionally.

Instructions

    • 1

Brush the bridge with a toothbrush and toothpaste to clean it, just as you would do with full dentures.

    • 2

Fill a glass, bowl or cup with cool or warm water. Make sure not to use hot water, as this might cause your bridge to warp.

    • 3

Drop the bridge into the water. Store it until you're ready to use it again -- it's often recommended that you go without dentures for at least eight hours each day.

    • 4

Add a denture-cleaning tablet, if desired, to the water in order to assist in further cleaning your dentures at the same time that they're being stored.
