1
In your bathroom, stop the sink and fill with warm water. This will help to protect the dentures in case they are dropped.
-
2
Place a towel around the sink to protect the dentures from falling on a hard surface. If the bathroom floor is not carpeted, be sure to stand on a towel or bathmat.
-
3
Rinse your mouth with warm water or mouthwash. This will help to remove the adhesive.

To remove the top denture, press on the back side of your front teeth with your thumb pushing upward and out of your mouth. To further loosen the top denture, wrap your index finger around the front with your thumb still in place. Gently wiggle the denture forward and backward until it comes loose. Be sure to take your time so as not to irritate your gums or damage the denture.

To remove the bottom denture, grip the front teeth between your thumb and index finger with the thumb on the backside. Gently wiggle the denture back and forth. Push denture toward the front of your mouth and remove.

After removing, follow the denture-care procedure recommended by your dentist. Store your dentures in warm water or a denture-cleansing solution.
