Gly-Oxide Side Effects

Gly-Oxide is an oral solution that is usually prescribed by dentists. Its active ingredient is hydrogen peroxide, and it creates a bubbling foam that aids in cleaning the mouth more thoroughly than brushing teeth alone.
  1. Indications

    • Gly-Oxide is used for dental patients who have consistent canker sores, have had dental or bridgework done, suffer from bad breath, or other injuries to the mouth that have caused cuts or abrasions. Gly-Oxide cleans the mouth better than brushing and prevents infection.

    Directions

    • Apply two to three drops of solution on the afflicted area, and wait three minutes before spitting out. Replace the cap on the solution after use. Your dentist or doctor may have alternate directions for you to follow.

    Side Effects

    • Side effects of Gly-Oxide include oral inflammation, gingivitis or denture irritation. These side effects can become serious and you should notify a doctor or dentist immediately if you are experiencing them.

    Considerations

    • Discontinue use of Gly-Oxide immediately if you are experiencing side effects due to using the solution.

    Warning

    • Keep Gly-Oxide out of the reach of children at all times. In case of accidental ingestion, contact Poison Control.
