How to Store a Bite Guard

Many medical and cosmetic products are only effective when properly used and cared for. This fact is true in the case of bite guards for your mouth. These trays, also referred to as night guards, are placed over the teeth to prevent different kinds of dental damage. These guards are usually used at nighttime to stop you from grinding your teeth while you sleep, or while playing sports to absorb shock and prevent tooth trauma.

Instructions

    • 1

Clean your guard before storing it to prevent the growth of bacteria. You can use your regular toothbrush and toothpaste to gently brush it clean and then rinse the guard with cool water.

    • 2

Use a container or case with small holes that will protect it from dirt but still allow some air to circulate inside.

    • 3

Store the case away from extreme heat and direct sunlight. These factors can cause the materials of the guard to melt and change shape.
