How to Preserve a Tooth That Has Fallen Out
If one of your teeth falls or gets knocked out, you can preserve it if you act quickly if you want to try and have it re-implanted. Check your home first aid kit to see if it contains an emergency tooth storage device, which includes a small travel case and a fluid solution to submerge the tooth in. If you do have one, follow its instructions to preserve the tooth for transport to a dentist.

Place the tooth back into the socket it fell from if possible. Push it in as far as you can, preferably until it is level with the rest of the teeth. Put a wet tea bag or a piece of gauze in your mouth and bite down gently to hold the tooth in place.

Hold the tooth under your tongue or between your lower lip and gums if it cannot be placed back into the socket due to pain or any other reason.

Put the tooth into a small container and cover it with saliva or whole milk if the tooth cannot be carried in your mouth.
