Herbal Remedy for Gum Disease
Gum Disease (Gingivitis and Periodontitis) can be treated successfully with herbal remedies. The use of aloe vera, clove and Echinacea is effective in treating periodontal disease. These treatments are generally considered safe by conventional medicine but always consult your health professional regarding any herbal medication to ensure it is right for you.-
Symptoms
-
Gingivitis (irritation of the gums) symptoms include redness, bleeding and bad breath. Periodontitis refers to the more serious inflammation of the tissues that surround your teeth, with more severe pain which can lead to tooth loss. Everyone can be affected, particularly teenagers, since they are especially prone to poor dental hygiene practices.
Treatment
-
To use aloe vera to relieve swollen gums, simply spread a little commercially available gel on your gums. Clove oil can also be applied to gums as an anesthetic and help prevent receding gums.
Prevention
-
Use herbal toothpaste preparations to prevent gum disease and bad breath. Use Echincea, an immunity booster, as a rinse several times a day to further promote dental health. Add a half teaspoon of the liquid form to a half cup of water and rinse your mouth several times before swallowing. These practices will help you fight bacterial infection and keep your gums and teeth healthy.
