1
Choose your yogurt wisely. When you're at the grocery store, look for the unsweetened variety first. If they don't have any, make sure you don't buy any with sugar or high fructose corn syrup in the ingredients. That won't help your gums at all.

2
Eat about 50 grams of yogurt each day. Breakfast is one of the best times because it boosts your energy level while the lactic acid works to balance your mouth. You can, however, eat it any time of the day for similar benefits.

3
Combine your yogurt consumption with a daily floss and proper brushing techniques at least twice per day. By no means does yogurt take the place of daily oral hygiene. Although it does help, it certainly won't do the job itself.

Try to add other foods into your diet to take the place of yogurt if you get bored of the taste. Cottage cheese and wheat beer also contain the same type of lactic acid that neutralizes your mouth.
