2
Clean your teeth and gums regularly. Follow the dentists’ instructions on how to maintain the health of teeth and gums. This will slow down the growth of gum disease and keep it at a healthy level.

3
Brush teeth starting from the gum line and moving upward or downward. This will effectively remove any food particles in between the teeth. Make sure that the brush reaches between the spaces of teeth for a more effective cleaning.

Floss after every meal. Use dental floss to get beneath the gum lines to remove any food particles. Food particles that are left behind after brushing teeth will turn to plaque and later gingivitis. Make certain that the floss gets underneath the gum line. This is an area that you won’t be able to reach using a toothbrush.

Use a small brush or gum stimulating brush to reach between your teeth to remove any food particles. Choose one that will best fit your needs. For instance, smaller brushes are used for tight fits between the teeth, while larger brushes are used to work between wider spaces.
