Where the Apical Pulse Is Assessed?- The apical pulse refers to the palpated heartbeat as felt at the apex of the heart on the chest wall.
How the Apical Pulse Is Assessed?
- Place your index and middle fingers of one hand together, making them flat, and then use those fingers to gently feel between the 4th and 5th intercostal spaces (roughly at the midclavicular line)
- Count the pulse for a full minute to obtain the heart rate
