How to Make Toothpaste With Essential Oils

  • Small bowl with lid
  • Spoon
  • 5 teaspoons baking soda, plus more if needed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 5 teaspoons vegetable glycerin
  • 10 drops food grade essential oil

      Pour baking soda into bowl. Add the salt. Stir in vegetable glycerin using the spoon to make a paste. Add more baking soda half a teaspoon at a time if the paste is too runny.

      Add your selected essential oil and blend. Add a few drops of water or additional vegetable glycerin if the paste is too thick. Taste the paste to determine if more essential oil is needed for flavoring.

      Place a lid on the bowl and store in a cool location away from direct sunlight. Keep the bowl sealed until you are ready to use. Using a spoon, scoop out a small amount of paste for your toothbrush when ready to use.
