Types of Sonicare Replacement Brushes

Sonicare rechargeable toothbrushes are available in a variety of styles and sizes, even one for children. Each toothbrush uses replaceable brush heads that either snap into place or twist and lock into place on the brush. You should replace your brush head regularly, generally after three months of normal use.

  1. Children's Brush Heads

    • Replacement brush heads for the Sonicare for Kids toothbrush come in two sizes; small is for children ages 4 to 6 and tall is for children ages 7 to 10. The two brush sizes correspond with the two speed settings on the toothbrush handle. Each head features a rubberized coating to protect young teeth and gums.

    E Series Brush Heads

    • The E Series replacement brushes are compatible with the Elite, Xtreme, Essence and Advance Sonicare brush handles. The E Series is available in the standard size or compact size. Both styles have rippled bristles designed to fit against the angles of your teeth. The brush head is slightly angled to give you better access to hard-to-reach areas. Reminder bristles are built in to give you a visual indication of when you should change your brush head. Both sizes come with a travel cap.

    ProResults Brush Heads

    • The ProResults replacement brush heads fit the FlexCare, FlexCare+ and HealthyWhite Sonicare handles. This series also has standard and compact head sizes. The bristles are contoured to fit along the edge of your gum line. As with the E Series brush heads, the ProResults brushes have built-in reminder bristles that change colors as you approach three months of use. Both sizes have travel caps to protect the bristles.

    HydroClean Brush Head

    • There is only one size of HydroClean brush head, and it can be used on the FlexCare, FlexCare+ and HealthyWhite brushes. The HydroClean head has rubberized paddle-shaped pieces in the middle of the brush, between the rows of bristles. The rubber paddles are designed to send toothpaste and water into hard-to-reach areas and mimic the actions of flossing. As with other brush styles, the HydroClean brush features reminder bristles and a travel cap.
