Slide the brush head of your Sonicare Elite onto the handle of the toothbrush. There will be indicator bars on the brush head that align with notches inside the handle.

Grip the brush head, attach it to the handle and rotate it clockwise to tighten it and keep the brush head and handle securely connected.

Charge your Sonicare Elite toothbrush before using it. The base of the handle will fit in the charger. Make sure the Sonicare logo faces outward. For the first few days, leave your Sonicare Elite in its charger all the time, unless you're using it to brush.

Put your preferred toothpaste on the bristles on your Sonica Elite and put it in your mouth before pressing the power button. Your Sonicare Elite is set to brush for two minutes, because that is the optimum brushing time recommended by dentists. You can pause this two minutes setting or stop it by pressing the power button. You can also extend it by pressing the power button once the two minutes are up.

Clean one section of your mouth at a time. Mentally, divide your mouth into four separate sections. Your Sonicare Elite will beep every 30 seconds. When it beeps, move on to the next section of your mouth.

Change the settings of your Sonicare Elite to fit your brushing preferences. Place your toothbrush in the charger and press the "Dual Speed Control" button. Press this button again, but this time hold it. Your current settings will display, depending on which position the green LED is in. Position four means the 30-second-interval feature is on. Position five means the 30-second-interval feature is on and 30 more seconds have been added to your two-minute brushing time. Position one will display with a yellow light and means that you have turned off the 30-second-interval feature.

Rinse your Sonicare Elite thoroughly after brushing to remove all toothpaste.
