Waterpik W360 Tips
The Waterpik oral irrigator has been helping people maintain and improve their dental health since 1962. The Waterpik is a device that uses a miniature pump to send a pulsating stream of water through a plastic syringe to clean debris and bacteria from the teeth and gum tissues. The Waterpik W360 is a portable, cordless and rechargeable model that is ideal for use while traveling, or for those with small bathrooms who need a smaller unit due to lack of space. Learn tips for properly using the Waterpik W360 to help maintain the healthiest teeth and gums.-
Set-Up
-
Charge the Waterpik 360 for a full 24 hours before you initially use the device. Make sure the switch is in the "Off" position before charging.
When the unit is fully charged, insert the plastic jet tip securely into the the top of the Waterpik's handle. Push it in firmly until it clicks into place. Make sure the tip's colored ring is lined-up with the end of the handle top, which means it's correctly locked. To remove the tip, press the eject button on the tip and gently remove tip from the handle.
Fill the Waterpik W360's reservoir with warm water or other solutions that your dentist has recommended. You can use salt water, but mix it with water in a separate container before adding it to the reservoir. Never use solutions in the reservoir that contain iodine, bleach, or tea tree oil, or commercially prepared mouthwashes.
Pressure Settings
-
Adjust the pressure setting on the Waterpik W360 by altering the tips. The low pressure tip is for gentle cleaning, and the high pressure tip is for deeper cleaning. Begin using the low pressure tip if you have sensitive gums or teeth, and use the high pressure tip for short periods of time until you feel comfortable increasing the time.
Procedure
-
Don't use the Waterpik W360 if you have an open wound on your moth or tongue. Remove any oral jewelry before using the device.
Bend over the sink and gently place the jet tip inside your mouth. Aim the tip toward your teeth. Turn the unit on. Begin by aiming the jet stream at your molars and back teeth, and slowly work toward the front teeth. The jet stream should be kept at a 90 degree angle to your gum line. Keep your lips slightly closed to avoid the water from overly splashing, but allowing the water to flow freely back into the sink. Gently glide the jet tip along your gum line and pause for a few seconds between teeth for deeper cleaning. Continue this process until all areas around and between your teeth have been cleaned.
