How do you rebuild enmal on your teeth?
You cannot rebuild enamel on your teeth. Enamel is the outermost layer of your teeth, and it is made up of a mineral called hydroxyapatite. Hydroxyapatite is a very hard mineral, but it can be damaged by acids, bacteria, and wear and tear. Once enamel is damaged, it cannot be repaired or replaced. However, there are some things you can do to protect your enamel and prevent further damage, such as:
* Brushing your teeth twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush and a fluoride toothpaste
* Flossing your teeth once a day
* Avoiding sugary foods and drinks
* Limiting your intake of acidic foods and drinks
* Wearing a mouthguard if you play sports or grind your teeth
* Seeing your dentist regularly for checkups and cleanings
If you have damaged enamel, your dentist may recommend a treatment such as:
* A dental sealant, which is a thin, plastic coating that is applied to your teeth to protect them from acids and bacteria
* A fluoride treatment, which helps to strengthen your teeth and make them more resistant to decay
* A crown, which is a cap that is placed over a damaged tooth to protect it and restore its function
